Learn from the farmers doing it
After a wet and cold May that made planting a real challenge, warmer weather has the crops looking pretty good across the area. Now's the perfect time to get out and see what's working.
You'll learn firsthand how farmers are managing crops, fertility, weed control, cover crops, soil biology, disease and insect pressure, and curing and preserving hay — straight from the people doing it every day. Expect plenty of open discussion, real farm examples, and hands-on insights you can take home. Bring a friend or neighbor!
What Gary & Mike will share
Gary Campbell and Mike Smith, AgriEnergy Solutions representatives, will be on hand to talk about the practical results growers are seeing — how biological amendments help:
- • Build larger root systems with more fine roots
- • Increase microbial activity in the soil
- • Improve nutrient efficiency so plants get more out of every input
- • Support stronger overall plant health
Gary will focus on fertility programs and management practices that boost nutrient efficiency. Mike will cover plant diseases and insect challenges — and how to stay ahead of them before they become problems.

Laverne Brubaker Farm

Lavern grows organic corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa, with some good-looking soybeans. He has been using AgriEnergy products for years and is getting good production on his farm.
Norman Zimmerman FarmDon't miss this stop

Norman and his family are growing organic corn, soybeans, wheat, clover and cover crops — his seventh year farming, with organic crops doing better each year. He rigged a new Einbock cultivator with spray nozzles to apply foliars while cultivating, cutting his rate in half without a second trip. He also built a propane flamer that was very effective this year, and grows cover crops to increase organic matter and soil biology.

Johnny and his family grow organic corn, soybeans, oats and alfalfa hay. They farm with horses and do an amazing job growing weed-free crops. They have an organic corn plot with Seed Consultants and Blue River entries, and a fertilizer plot with AgriEnergy Starter Fertilizer and Endo 25.
Larry Holbrook Farm

Trent and his father Darry farm together with a conventional dairy and grow corn, alfalfa and soybeans. They plant non-GMO corn for silage and grain, applying BioEnerG with 28% N at planting and side-dress while reducing nitrogen inputs over the last 9 years — with some great looking crops. They applied SBb 2.5 (Beauvaria bassiana) at planting to minimize vomitoxins in their grains.

Fred and Scott Myers farm about 2,800 acres in organic production — corn, soybeans (planted with rye as a smother crop), hard red winter and spring wheat, oats, barley, rye, clover, alfalfa and mixed hay. They use AgriEnergy starter on corn and soybeans, Endo 25 on alfalfa and small grains, foliar fertilizers and Utrisha N on hay, corn, soybeans and small grains, SPE-120 on grain crops, and Dyna-Cure on hay. A propane flame weeder, weed zapper, camera and GPS guidance on their cultivator are utilized. See the modern equipment and technology used in their large-scale organic production.
Stoller Organic Dairy — Doyle Stoller
11290 Miller Road, Sterling, OH
The Stollers farm 1,700 organic acres growing organic corn, wheat, soybeans, forage sorghum, alfalfa and pasture. They use a flamer and a variety of tools for weed control, have built several 60-foot Weed Zappers, custom build cultivators, assemble roll-over moldboard plows, and recently built a new milking parlor and expanded their herd. Scott was one of the first farmers in the area to use AgriEnergy products.
Robert J. Yoder Farm

Robert and his family are Organic Valley milk producers. Robert farms about 260 organic acres, grows corn with the AgriEnergy Starter Program, applies foliars to his alfalfa and utilizes pastures for his dairy.
